Well Dear Clarissa, I hope to leave if Obama gets in..to Israel maybe? At any rate, I don't think either candidate is a good deal for Israel/Jewish people as a whole. So, G-d willing, I'd like to make alyiah either way the election falls only if Obama gets in, I'll feel the need to move immediately..

I'd be happy to sell you some stuff, hey, I'd give it to you!! Might cost too much to ship it to you though Confused

LOL

he's such a little guy. I can't bear to yell at him. besides I love watching my kids nurse. they all have this look that informs the watcher that they are completely in love. it's delicious. his basherte will have to get over it.

Isn't it interesting that the only postters who are rude & insulting ("idiotic remarks" are the nicer comments) are from Obama supporters. Hmmm. So if frum Jews take these attitudes towards others who dare to have alternate views, just imagine what the non jews will do to us.

I'm wearing my Sarah Palin button today. I'll let you know if I get spat at, pushed, etc. And yes, we are moving if G-d forbid Obama wins, bli neder. DH & I discussed it again last night. But it's OK, you guys won't miss us!!

People are full of hot air... or some other unmentionable bodily excretion. Nobody is moving anywhere. No matter who wins.

I'm sorry but I beg to differ. I know of one family in my town who has moved already and another about to walk out the door.

SarahO, where did they move to and why would they do it if we didn't get the results yet. They obviously would move either way...

Both to Israel. They both know that the two candidates are not good for Israel esp. Brack Hussein Obama who is probably going to be out next president.

No, they wouldn't have obviously moved either way, they are the froggies who know when to jump out of the pot. LOL

Look, I voted for McCain, but all these doomsday predictions about Obama are really idiotic. Getting passports, moving, are you guys really serious? What do you really think will happen under a Obama Presidency? He will take us all out to be shot? I really don't get it.

I'm going to look for the posts of those who said they were moving, and do an unofficial survey to see if people follow through. I always wonder about this, every election, whether the people who threaten to do so are Republican or Democrat.

I'm impressed that they were able to make aliyah so quickly. I have a colleague who wants to make aliyah next summer, and she's already involved in a procedural morass although she's single and doesn't own any property. It took one of the teachers at my son's school well over two years to get everything in place. I'm also failing to see the logic behind their move. They believe that Senator Obama is particularly bad for Israel. Presumably they also believe that he would be bad for the US, which is the country he's running in, but I digress. They are so concerned about the impact that he will have on Israel that ... they choose the move there???? It makes no sense. If he will be so bad, and cause such harm to Israel, wouldn't they want to stay away from Israel? Anyway, best of luck to your friends.

I've made my share of snarky statements over time. Nonetheless, I believe that the US system has sufficient checks and balances in place that -- assuming that the system is allowed to function as it should (no suspension of rights, holding prisoners without charging them, torture, for example), then no one person, even as president, can do all that much harm.
