I now have more time to reply to Isramom's post about not being fake.
I am the least fake person I know. But as Clarissa has mentioned, different social settings make for different social behaviors. I can be very outspoken in certain settings, very shy at first at another.

If a person does not know you IRL, as much personality that you have online, it is still really hard to see the whole picture of who the person really is. That is why we cannot judge others.
Feeling invisible happens all over the place. I do not think it is done intentionally on anyones account. It just happens. We sometimes have hard days where we think everyone is out to get us, and feel overlooked.. sorry for the rambling.. just some thoughts of mine... am I explaining myself clearly? Confused

I feel like that sometimes too here and in real life I'm far from dismissed. I'm actually quite verbal in real life and even though I'm shy inside, I come across as outrageous sometimes for the things I say. I think that in an online forum I am afraid of hurting people's feelings and offending them so I seem more reserved.
By the way Native Mom, I've definitely noticed your posts so don't feel invisible.

I notice you native mom, I always think of Pocahontas when I see your avatar and name.

That's actually why I chose my name, not because of Pocahontas but because I'm part Native American Smile

I hear what you're saying Lady Godiva, I've gotten over some of my shyness but still have some issues with it. I think a lot of it has to do with low self esteem. Since I was a kid I always felt people disliked me, mainly because I disliked myself. I had this one friend that used to find some fault in every little thing I said and constantly put me down. She made me feel like a moron which didn't help my self esteem at all. I distance myself from people because of that. I also find that when I'm talking to someone I'm at a loss for words and then when we're done with the conversation I walk away thinking "did I just say that? gosh I must sound like an idiot!" which is another reason why I keep my mouth shut. I find myself doing this on imamother, I've deleted a lot posts and threads I've started because I was worried someone else would read it and think I was incompetent..I still do it....
Wow I just opened up!

Yeah the name just popped into my head, although I think I should change it.
