My two year old dd has this new thing of waking up inmiddle the night. She cries till she throws up. I let her stay up for two hours then she goes back to bed. HELP! I feel like I have a newborn. A night that she doesnt wake up I feel ahhhhh. And when she does Im in a crazy mood all day. Why did she start this now? Any ideas?

you have to teach her that this is not okay. Let her cry, and if she throws up, go in, dont talk to her, clean her and change the linen and put her back in. If you think she is scared, maybe put a small lamp or night light in her room so she could see at night. Let her cry for a few nights, and when she realizes that you are not going to come, she will hopefully stop. Babies are smart- if she sees that you come and she gets to stay up with you, she will keep doing it, but if she sees that you wont take her out, she will stop (hopefully).

Did anything in her world change lately? New babysitter? New playgroup? New baby? Did you go away with/without them?

Our middle son has been doing this for the past 5 months also, getting up at 4-4.30am. I left him to cry on Saturday night and he went back to sleep eventually. Last night he decided that 3am was morning, NOT ON MY LIFE!!! I made sure he had everything and left him again. Again, he eventually went back to sleep (took about 20 minutes), until 6.30am. It's hard as he shares a room with #1 and his screaming can wake him up too but we just have to stick with it as it's ridiculous and he's playing us.

Nothing has changed for her.
Its so hard to let her cry but I guess thats what I have to do.

Might she be having nightmares? Night Terrors? Does she watch tv or videos?

Getting her 2-year molars?

Is letting her sleep in your bed or next to you a possibility? Hope she starts sleeping calmly soon!

If it wouldve been pin worms wouldnt there be another sign?
How can I know if its her teeth?
She has no temperature, ate well before going to bed.

for my kids it's thirst. I ALWAYS give them sippy cups in the middle of the night--- they go crazy when they're thirsty.
