A fruit cup ( I keep them in the fridge ready to go), a string cheese, some almonds, or a bowl of cereal if I need something crunchy and sugary.

butternut squash chips: slice paper thin (skin still on), place on cookie sheet, sprinkle with salt, bake for a few minutes until crispy. So yum.

It depends on what diet your following...

For me, most of the mentioned snacks would be 'forbidden' according to my guidelines. I would probably take a handful of almonds...

Also, don't confuse thirst with hunger... All you might need is a glass of water.

Good Luck.

Sounds yummy but how do you slice a butternut squash paper thin, I have such a harder time cutting it

It's not easy, and some of them don't come out as thin as I'd like them to. But I try to buy a small butternut squash, and I use a sharp non-serrated knife.

Would it work using a peeler? or is that to thin?

It should. Just bake it for a shorter amount of time. (Though I don't think that the width of the peeler is wide enough to accommodate the width of the butternut squash. The slicing blade on a hand grater might work better.)
