Quoting from another thread:
Quote: | the rabbi had to use a microphone just to be heard. kids were running around, yelling, and using their groggers every second. parents just sat there and ignored.
at least if you bring your kids, try your best to keep them quiet! |
I thought using a microphone during megillah was not allowed? Does anyone know?

I don't think so - this is posted in sort of a wacky section by the way.

My Father in law taught us a few hilchot of Purim this shabbat. a microphone may be used as long as the people would still be able to to hear the reader if it were removed. So if you're hearing the reader AND the microphone its ok but if you're hearing the megila from the microphone alone, its not ok.
This is according to a book by Rav Ovadia Yossef.
