A friend just told me that they suspect their high teen (about 19) who is away at college in NJ, has bullimia. Does anyone know of any support organization or group dealing with these issues in the Morristown, NJ or NY area. I think support for the child and the parents would be helpful. Thanks

There is a treatment facility in Ridgwood, NJ- The renfrew center, which is great. You can google them. Project Relief is a Jewish org that helps with EDs.

Hi, I know that this response is very very late- however I have a fantastic form of support for frum people with Eating Disorders. Two things= First of all, The orginization Maagen Avrohom, 718-222-4321. They deal with families, providing education Guidance and support. I haven't enough words to describe their phenomenal services. they have a vast network of therapists, nutritionists and mentors.

Another form of support is a newslettter that is geared solely for Frum Women and teens with EDs. It has the haskamah of Rabbi Dewick (of Magen Avrohom- though doesn't have an affiliation with it.) It provides kosher support and can be received via email or mail. To subscribe, email "subscribe" to punintended34@yahoo.com or Send a fax with the approprite address to 718-222-1919, Att: Cee Bee.
