All of my contacts are getting strange emails, supposedly from me. The first one was a sales pitch, but the next one was fairly obscene. I think they know not to open them, but still..I did a quick scan and my malware program found no malignant objects. So what do I do?

Try a second scanner- preferably, if possible, after booting in safe mode.
Whose email are you using (eg hotmail, yahoo, gmail, etc.)? You should try to contact your email provider and see if they can help you.
Worst case, you may need to close the account and open a new one. I've seen that happen to some of my friends. It's a real pain.

First try changing the password on the email. Then delete all your contacts. That might be enough. If not, though, do close the email account as suggested above.

If your account is online only, then your best bet is to just open brand new account. If it is on your PC using outlook or similar then the problem in on your PC.
