I found a few berets that I really like and would like to buy but since they are summer knits they have a lot of holes throughout them. I haven't tried them on so I don't know if hair shows through, and someone who wears them have told me that it doesn't, but I still feel uncomfortable. Does anybody know of anything that I can wear underneath them as a sort of lining? Oh and where I can purchase it and if you also know approximately how much it costs - TIA!

why don't you just take it to a seamstress and have them lined? it shouldn't cost that much, and that way you wont be uncomfortable having two layers on your head! just make sure the lining is loose so that it fits right.

Try wearing a thin cotton snood or turban underneath. They are light and provide great coverage!

A bathing cap might be hot and sweaty. A cotton under cover may work well, or if you have a lot of hair, a thin cotton snood.
Another idea is just to bring it to a seamstress and have her sew in a lining.
