I am in a masters program & unhappy. I am thinking of switching & teaching at a Yeshiva day school.
I do not have any children yet & am not pregnant, but would like to hear about the pros and cons of teaching (secular studies).
Thank you all!!

Pros: Frum environment, social aspect - meeting colleagues in teachers' room or office, etc., working w/ ppl you can relate to, satisfaction
Cons: LOW PAY, first year teaching is HARD - need to prepare every single night, classroom management can be a pain in the behind.
If you choose to teach, read The First Days of School by -- Wong (forgot his first name). Brilliant tips for managing kids and setting boundaries.
