I'm wondering what's the going rate in Israel for an office manager (which is not the same as a secretary). Job includes all the office work (billing clients, filing, payments and contact to service providers, emails, calls , bookkeeping editing for boss etc as well as working on general business conception, giving input and more ) and also an understood responsibility of occasionally answering phone calls (which could be while putting kids to bed)/ working in evenings towards deadlines. Although I haven't had much formal training, I have had a previous job in this field for almost a year, at which I was quite successful. I and am looking into something new and I want to know what the going rate is. Either shekel per hour or if you know of a salary pls specify the amount of office hours on a usual day. TIA!!

Iv'e been doing that for 18 months now. I get paid 30 NIS an hour but was promised a pay rise. I do feel very underpaid but my boss makes up for it in terms of compliments. I feel that I run the business - from beginning to end but am getting paid like a standard secretary. Am very interested to hear other responses..

I think in israel many times a secretary is more like an office manager. I would say abt 30-35 nis p/ hour.

What is your boss offering? You never have to say yes to the first offer....

Starting wage is 25-30NIS/hour, in a private (not hi-tech/government) office. After 5 years in the same place I was up to 38+ benefits, but that was hi-tech.
My first job in Israel was the equivalent of 25/hour (4000NIS/month), plus transportation, and I already had 3.5 years' experience under my belt. I worked 8:30-5.

OP here. Thanks for all your replies. I guess then being raised to 30 nis is reasonable. Oh well!!!
