Anyone out there with Medicaid can give me the pros and cons of the various HMOs out there? I need to choose and HMO for my baby. I have Americhoice but my mother doesn't think it's a good idea to choose that. She thinks I should look into HIP or some other HMO. Her reason for that is that Americhoice does not have citywide coverage. Anyone out there have any advice on HMOs to help me choose?

Forget citywide coverage, work backwards, you have to find a doctor that you like for yourself, plus one for your baby,. Whichever one they both accept, that will be your HMO to pick - yay!

HIP is excellent, as many specialists take HIP. I have americhioce but my son has HIP.

It really depends where you live and inquire what your doctor accepts.
