I like cornflake crumbs for breading, breadcrumbs for binding. But OK to use either in a pinch.

its definitely not the same, if your making supper and lazy to run out just this once its ok but its not a replacement it tastes different and has a more mushy consistency

I've never understood the cornflakes thing. I not a fan of added sugars or salts (or BHT) so I bake all of my bread. Leftovers go into the bread bag and get converted to bread crumbs. When my kids were little it was their job to 'cook' (toast) the breadcrumbs on the stove.

Oats are also a good binder for ground beef

You CAN use them but it will not taste the same. It will taste like meatballs or shnitzel or whatever, with cornflakes.

Cornflake crumbs are just crushed leftover cereal. I am not aware that it is sold as a product (but I suppose anything is possible).

I only like cornflake crumbs for breading, not for a binding agent. I don't like how that comes out.
