hi
we are moving into a house and have to gate the stairs from our overly precocious not-yet-2 yr old (a real monkey! I don't want her to be able to go to a different floor than me or to wander around on her own too much. We;ve never lived in a house before, just apartments)
The house has a beautiful stairway with an wrought iron railing so I have no idea how to gate it. Does anyone have a gating system they would recommend. The openings of the stairway are about 34 or 35 inches.
Here are two pics of the stairway that my dh took:
PLEASE advise
THANKS

well, you obviously can't have a typical hardware mounted gate. I don't know if a pressure mount would work, but if it does, get one with a swinging door opening.

would it be possible and safe to install the wooden gates with some sort of specialized hardware to clamp connecting the wrought iron side to the gate and only install the side that opens and closes properly to the wall?

You can get a wooden beam attached to the iron bars somehow. Then work from that.
