I have the recipe for lemon dipped rugelach from the balabuste's choice
can I use my own dough recipe that calls for oil, no margarine, and then dip it in the lemon mixture, or do I have to use their recipe with margarine?

I can't answer your question but I am intrigued by the idea of lemon flavored rugelach.
I love anything lemon
Can you possibly share the recipe?

Love that recipe too.
Assuming I can try it with another recipe, but I'd try substituting the marg with oil.
