My daughter got a small stain from permanent marker on a white dress. Is there any hope of getting this out? Or will trying make it spread?

Try hair spray first. Spray and let sit 10 min. Spray again and scrub out the stain with with a soft toothbrush.
There's also carbona marker and goo gone. But hair spray first.

Whatever you try , do it asap , but try on a very hidden corner first so in case it goes wrong the dress is not yet kaput. So use a spot that you will be able to take in if goes bad ...

Keep repeating the hair spray and scrub.
Otherwise go for good gone. Follow the instructions on the bottle.
