A sibling in health care says that there are a number of cases with double peaks, that they start feeling better at 6 days, then things get very bad on day 7.

I think it depends on how severe your case is. It hit me really hard on day 7, and stayed peak for the next few weeks. Then I thought I was getting better, until my fever shot up again for 3 days straight. Now I have a bad sinus infection. My ENT says it might be viral and will have to pass on it's own, but if it's still bad by Monday she'll swab me and see if I need antibiotics.
The fun never ends.
