I'm looking to reasonable and responsible. I want to exactly what's going into my kids and not be a blind vaxer and I must say that I don't feel I can have this discussion with any of the Drs. (I hope Dr Stein won't be offended since she's on here.). They're a fantastic grp. My family has been there since my siblings older than me were babies. But to have an open honest discussion, I have to say there's alot alot of room for improvement in that practice. That's one of the reasons I'm trying to push it off as long as I can and probably won't give more than 2 at a time.

She did recently join the practice together with Dr. Kaplowitz.

OP, I would tell you to try talk to them especially if they know your family for years and know that you are responsible people. They are used to people saying, it's nerdy to vaccinate (true story) or my sister in law told me that I'm crazy if I vaccinate. That's not a normal, balanced way to navigate the situation.

did you read what I replied to, to what that was a reply too? I know, its already totally off subject...
Anyway, may Hashem guide you to make the best decisions for the safety of your family and for the people around you.
Personally, if you find you can't discuss things with your doctor, regardless of the subject, I would search for a new pediatrician...
I vaccinate all of my kids, so I really have no say on this. But, whenever I had concerns, be it vaccine related or anything else I was able to talk it out with the doctor and make an educated decision. even if the doctor felt that there was no need medically- they were totally cool with me deciding to wait and postponing, honoring my motherly intuition. (for eg once when dc was due for vaccine & even though child was perfectly fine on exam I felt that something was off with my child. turns out my child was admitted to the picu the following day with a bad infection. I was so happy I pushed off the vaccine)

Ask them for the facts-don't let them lecture you about being " responsible" and gaining their trust. Tell them they need to earn your trust.

My baby has a medical condition. There's one Dr in the grp that knows my baby very well. But the attitude in that grp is crazy pro vax. So even though I trust this Dr, even though he knows my baby, and is fully involved in the care through the specialist, I can't have an honest discussion with him abt vaccines. With everything else he's okay. If I don't want meds for an ear infection he'll let me wait it out first etc. The topic of vaccines is so sensitive, debatable, and controversial that I feel that not being able to discuss with a Dr, its not necessarily a negative reflection on the Dr. I truly think it's the topic rather than the Dr.

Here are the facts. Dr. Diamonds office is very pro vaccine. Nobody there will give you an easy time going on a delayed scheduled. Some Doctors there are downright nasty if you try to discuss it with them. BTDT

Can you discuss the vaccines with the specialist then?
