no window or just a small one? For a small one you can get a portable ac that just has a smaller hose to vent out. Not sure what to do about no window.

You can install an AC into the wall.

You can hire someone to put in a split unit.
Portable A/C's still need a window so you can stick the duct outside and are a pain.

I just googled “windowless ac unit” and got a ton of hits. Amazon has lots of options and other sites as well.

Thanks all. So, I do want something with a vent. There is a small window I can use.
I don't want to invest money into breaking open the wall.
Any recommendations for portable a/c would be appreciate.
Thanks!

We had an edge star that wasn’t great. Now we have a Honeywell that’s wonderful.

I am sorry I do not understand. How can you have a room without a window- do you mean a closet?

What make/model did you buy and are you happy with it?
How do you vent the hose out the window, wouldnt the window need work? Do you need an electrician/expert?

We have a small window in the room, so open it enough for the hose to go out (the AC sits on a shelf to reach high enough), stick the hose out and cover the rest with cardboard. Plugs into the regular outlet.

May I ask which brand and model you have? Does it cool? Is it efficient?

We have the Honeywell MO08CESWK- don't know if it's still available. It cools pretty well, but it's a basement so it's not hard to cool. We have it hooked up to a Smart AC plug, so I don't know if it has energy saver mode.
