I'd like to get ideas for a rainy day. Anyone have yummy cake, brownie, cookie, etc recipes that are easy/fun to make with little kids? Or any other type of recipe they'd enjoy?

How old is your child? My 2.8 y.o. enjoys anything she can squish, eg challa dough. We also make cookies by rolling out the dough and using cutters. She helps make cupcakes by throwing the ingredients into the bowl and switching on the mixer, or mixing with a spoon. She has a lot of enjoyment and pride in her work and it gives her (and me!) such nachas when she can offer the finished product to her father or siblings.

anything you like ... they can help put in some of the ingredients - you can measure they can put in bowl ... cookies are always fun if they are roll out style ...

always wash their hands and keep the separate from the ones you make (nobody likes to eat kid's cookies - or maybe that's just me)

klutz press has a great kid's cookbook. I've used some of the recipe with preschoolers.

and it comes with color coded measuring spoons.

Do you specifically need something to eat? You can make playdough.

For a fun activity, they can color marshmallows with edible markers.

we put them on toothpicks and draw our marshmallow people, and all sorts of "beautiful" masterpieces that they get to eat after.
