I’ll shlep them out and check the company names tomorrow. If you remind me. Do they all have the company names engraved on the bottom?

I wanted to buy a 20 qt.
My sister told me that its never the actual number plus you can't fill a pot up till the top so you end up losing a quart or two.
Which made me look into 32 qt.
Which made me see the 40 qt. sleek looking pot on Amazon.
It was love at first sight. |
How do you wash it? In the bathtub? (together with the toddler?)

Keep milchik flatware in the right hand drawer and fleishik in the left. Not because I “saw” this but because of muscle memory. When I think milchik, my hand automatically moves to the right. So when I set up my kitchen, there was no thought involved: the milchik flatware automatically went in the right-hand drawer.

I have two pots same size from same company but they must be at least 20- 30 years apart in age. The one I inherited is obviously better made than the newer one, which I got 35+ years ago, which is, in turn, is better made than the ones made now.

Yes no space for my potatoes in either. I have a two tier bin for potatoes and onions. I keep sweet potatoes there too. Wouldn’t fit under either sink.

I make uniform piles for my kids every night ready for the next day, because my mother did that with us. Everything, including socks and underwear- we do not have mad rushes and crying about cant find clothes in the morning. We have even caught the bus 12 minutes after waking up, because everything was ready.
Also, school drinks, snacks, lunch, signed papers, money needed - all done the night before. I used to see classmates without things they needed and couldn't understand why they didnt have. I'm one of a large family and we always had our homework diaries signed, lunch and snacks, etc. As my family grew I saw just how hard it was, and made sure to do as my mother did. In fact, if I know I have to be out early, I pack everything for myself the night before as well.
I got married and moved to Israel 2 weeks later, so went shopping with my new husband for our household essentials, including pots. I saw the tiny pots, and thought who on earth uses those things? So I bought big, and bigger, like my mother has 🤣 The pan I bought was big enough for 2 whole chickens! It was ridiculous as a young couple, but amazing now when cooking for my large family 15 years later.

I bow a regular bow during aleinu/the avoda on RH and YK.
My poor daughter thinks we're not as frum as everyone who bows to the floor.
But that's how my mother and grandmother always did it.
They are frum women who grew up in frum families.
Obviously that's our minhag.

The way I speak to the children.
The way I teach children things and let them try it out for themselves.
It's all from my mother... I wish I could be as good a mother as her, that's all I wish for.

My white tablecloth stays on all week, with a plastic cover over it. Like my parents and in laws. 🤷

If you have a tall faucet it fits into the sink. It's sleek, remember that love at first sight?
Thats because it was so handsome. It doesn't look like a 40 quarter.
Or you can wash it with the spray nozzle.

Sorry. My nachas'l is stored on the top shelf of my washroom because I didn't want to put a seasonal bulk item in my kitchen.
I ain't crawling up there to show him (her?) off.
(Now I'm beating myself up. I don't even know how it identifies as. What kinda mother am I?)
