I buy the cheapest good quality clothes I can get away with. My siblings and I always looked freshly scrubbed and neat as a pin but designer labels were not a thing growing up. Bargains totally were. Even bargains on brands like old navy and H&M. I spend more than she did😊 but a lot less than people around me do. I instinctively search for the sales rack in every store I enter. It’s gotten me dirty looks and being ignored by salesladies but that’s part of the fun. It’s also worth it for the shock on their face when I do buy something full price.

Most of what I do I saw growing up. Isn't that what makes us who we are?

Why sorry? Didn’t I say the same?
To my luck, it’s the good sturdy one that’s stuck!

Cook pasta in a big frying pan
Until my friend was at my house and she’s like huh why are you cooking pasta in a frying pan. And I was like what do you mean? What should I be cooking it in? Lol
I now use a pot.

That's actually exactly how we evolve....... Through replicating behaviors and those that are more conducive to survival last through the generations.

I am cheap on the wrong things. I’m cheap on disposable pans, plastic containers, and I’ll shop 4 stores for a sale. Dh hates it because his family had no money but grocery shops at the most expensive place in town

Does it pour neatly like that? Or dribble down the side of the bottle?
(Edited for typo.)

Btw I got myself a 40 quart pot before YT if anyone wants to borrow it.
My husband's freind, when he saw my husband taking it to toivel, asked him if we're going into catering.
🙈
Little does he know that whatever quantity of food I wanted in there still didn't fit. |
How and where do you wash it? I was always taught ( by my moms errors) not to get a pot bigger than the sink you wanna wash it in.

Right???
I’ve seen people keep it in a special cabinet or on a hook on a random wall or even on the platform going down to the basement, if you have those stairs in the back of your kitchen.
I don’t normally pay attention to broom placement, but I have noticed sometimes when it was missing from the right place!

My fridge takes up all space. I have a space between washer/dryer and wall, (no, not a laundry room) so yea, my broom n shovel is there.

Sometimes you need to change what you saw growing up either because it's not working out for you & your family, either times have changed & need to adjust to society or what worked for previous generations doesn't work in this one, also to adjust to other half who is a different type of person and grew up with different norms, than your norms. Got to be flexible, be able to adjust, bend & compromise when get married. We can't stay stuck in the past.
Every child has diff personality too. What my mom ( one personality) did for me ( another personality) might not work for my child ( who is a third personality) and have different parent/child relationship due to diff personalities.

That's how people usually start out, just doing things that they are used to, and repeating patterns, but if it's not good, ( it doesn't work for them) they need to change it.
What if, whatever parents did was no good,
Some people will just repeat patterns, until they are in a rut, and then have no choice but to suffer/create more damage or are forced to break cycle.
For others, want to break free, and will do exactly opposite to their children, as not to repeat same mistakes.
There's a joke that grandkids will do same as gparent, because children will do opposite of their parents.
