Politics makes strange bedfellows. I distrust political endorsements, because there are all sorts of deals made in back rooms. You endorse me, I'll approve your spending bill. I endorse you because your mentor endorsed me. We endorse each other because we both patronize the same house of vice and so we each have something on the other...

Furthermore, he may feel that Hilary is going to lose, anyway, and if he goes on record as endorsing Obama then Obama will "owe" him.

If a person came out and publicly endorsed a candidate, he wants it known. why do you hesitate to reveal the name?
