I have a bad habit of biting my nails and I have a wedding coming up and I want my nails to look nice again, so I bought stop n grow, which makes a horrid taste in the mouth when you lick/bite your nails. It's been working wonders. But heres the thing:
My nails look overgrown and ugly because it's not attached to the nail bed since it was bitten constantly away so never got a chance to reattach themselves. now I'm left with long-looking nails (the white bit) and have no idea to get them back to looking nice again

Does a manicure even help? Like can they repair my nails? Also, I have never had my nails done what do I ask for?
Anyone ever had fake nails put on?

A manicure with even a light colored polish should do the trick. The manicurist will know what to do that's her job.

The manicurist will help for the short term, but it takes 3 - 6 months for the nail bed to grow out and look normal again. Try using a good cuticle oil, and keep them moisturized as well as your hands. One way is to use udder cream on your hands at night with some white cotton gloves...if possible to do.

thanx for that, I'm going to have my nails done tomorrow, these Chinese nail salons are good? or do I need a specialist (iv bitten my nails all my life! so new to this)

Buy yourself a good cuticle oil and a good hand moisturizer and use them twice a day. Go for a manicure once every six or seven days. Try not to wait more than a week between manicures. With every manicure they'll get a little better. Ask your neighbors which is the best nail salon near you.

It helps your nails grow properly and keeps your cuticles smooth.
