Is it your minhag to fast until chatzos erev RH?

DH family has a minhag that the men fast until chatzos on erev RH. My family never did growing up, trying to figure out how common it is.

Honestly it’s making my day a lot harder 🙈 currently expecting and having a hard time getting the house together and he is only half here…

We don't. But this year our community took on for all adults to fast as a zechus for some sick members.

So DH and I are both fasting.

DH is fasting. I’m currently expecting, but either way I’ve never done it.

He is still helping out a lot. I didn’t realize he was fasting until he just mentioned it.

My husband does it as a remaining minhag from yeshiva days. I didn't even notice it for years- he eats before he leaves for early slichos and has a late lunch.

As a little girl, I remember my grandmother (mom's mom) fasting till chatzos on Erev R"H (and also first day of slichos)

My parents and I also fast till chatzos. I'm not sure if all my sisters do.

My husband also fasts till chatzos, and I'm certain my FIL does. I don't know about my MIL.

It's definitely a minhag.

I’m finding this interesting, the poll is definitely leaning heavily towards “never heard of it” but most comments are the opposite.

Dh did it today. I didn’t vote in the poll because
I don’t thing it’s a minhag for everyone over bar mitzvah rather if someone wants to do it, they do. (My boys are young but I don’t think dh would tell them to fast.)
