Anyone could convert 3 1/2 oz fresh yeast to dry yeast? Also, how many Tbsp/tsp would that be? (I don't know if it's instant dry or dry, it's probably a Jewish company like Gefen etc.) Thanks a million!

It should be around 4 Tbsp (which is 1/4 cup) of dry yeast. If you don’t know if it’s instant or not, play it safe by activating in some warm water with a little sugar before adding to the dough.

Thanks so much! While I was waiting for a reply, I looked at old posts, and it seems like according to an old post, it would be more like 4 tsp, not Tbsp. (3.93 tsp). Are you sure about your answer? thanks.

I’m confident that I did the math right from the chart I linked (I re-did it just now), but I don’t know if that brand of fresh yeast is different from others or what you have. How much flour are you using and what type of bread are you making (and how long does it rise for)? That should be able to give you a ballpark of how much yeast.
