when you sign up, and give them all your info, how much you want to loose within a set amount of time, when the page is created at the very bottom it tells you the calorie intake

I have ED, I eat less than 500. Believe me, it's not something I'm proud of.

How do u have koach?
Sometimes I feel so drained and cranky from all this. Poor dh, it all goes out on him, and then I get really annoyed at myself for doing all this, and I pig out bigtime to feel better. So the next few days I barely eat a crumb to 'fix' it. It's a never ending horrible cycle.

I dont have the strength, its just something I must do ,or else I feel like garbage and then ill take it out on my husband...so if I dont eat that much, then ill feel better and that way be able to maintain a nice shalom bayit. Its so ridiculous I know but I feel like its not in my control. Today its 1;15 and so far ive had a coffee and a peach. I dont have that much more planned for the rest of the day. Do u feel like u need to plan out the food ur gonna eat for the rest of the day? I hate it!!

It's not just calories, it's what is in those calories.
Your height, weight, form of activity all determines what you should eat. Whether you want to lose weight, maintain weight etc.
If you are five feet tall it's differen than if you are five foot ten.
If you don't exercise it's different than if you spend an hour a day on a treadmill, exercise bicycle, etc.
Most people who want to lose should cut all forms of carbs, sugars, fats, and dairy and go heavily on veg, some fruit, and some protein. You can have things like whole rice or whole rice crackers but keep away from pasta, bread, cake, cookies etc.
Someone once said that if you keep away from high calorific/density foods you will do well. That means dont eat anything that has more than 200 calories in 100 grams of it while you are trying to diet. When you aren't just don't eat much of those things. You will find that it means only lean fish or chicken, fruits, veg, low fat dairy and complex carbs.

You should definitely NOT cut out all form of carbs, dairy, and fats. They are important, and the correct serving sizes should be eaten daily.

Defy what I meant is "added"...
no added sugar. No added fat. No added dairy meaning processed, only natural.
What comes in nature like the sugar in fruit, is something else.
Same for the fat in avocadoes, nuts etc.

I don't think its possible for me to stick to a strict eating plan or even calorie counting seems impossibe. It's about 4:30pm now and so far I had a serving of sushi and some raddishes today. Some days I'll eat under 500 cal and other days I'm sure that I eat close to 5000 cal... somedays I eat normal food and some days I eat junk ALL DAY LONG. There's no ryme or reason... I keep saying that one day I will start eating right. We'll see.............

What scares me is that in the poll the largest number of women wrote that they eat 800-1000 calories or 1000 calories a day.
ARE YOU LADIES FOUR FOOT TEN?????
That's about the amount of calories that a woman of that height should eat to maintain a thin weight.
So either everyone is lying or everyone here has an eating disorder.
Which one is it?

Five foot ten here, and keeping to 1200 calories when I'm good, 1500 when I'm very bad (BH rare)...
I can understand why they would go lower since I've stopped losing and even gained a bit back...

As a nutritionist/dietitian I wouldn't ever give clients a diet plan less than 1200 calories. Definately, height, age, current weight all come into play when determing appropriate calorie ranges. I usually like to give clients a higher calorie range, 1500-1600 calories plus so they don't go hungry. (Yes, you can lose weight by eating more)If you feel full and that you can enjoy indulging a bit, you're less likely to starve/binge.... Alot of it is psychological too, calorie counting is not always the way to go because it gets people very fixed on meauring, weighing, restricting, deprivation, binging, guilt, eating... Really alot depends on the individual and what's worked for them in the past.

I try but nutritionists/dietitians send me away. I even had my family doc write a note to go to one (new system in France, you need his referral for a specialist) and he had to add "fake" kilos on the note... but when they'll weigh me they will see.
