Could anyone reccomend a good pediatrician in Flatbush? I am extremely upset with my current pediatrician's office and need to switch. I am looking for a doctor who is compassionate and kid friendly. Thanks in advance!

I also use Dr. Norowitz. I am very happy with him. He always returns calls and is excellent with the kids. PM me if you have any questions.

Oh just one more thing:
I do NOT want a doctor who has a huge ego. Obviously he/she has to be a good doctor and have confidence, but a huge ego really bothers me.

I use dr antar. he took care of me since birth and now he sees my kids. no big ego, takes time with patients, calls back, remembers names without a chart...
associated with maimonides and columbia. also a pediatric cardiologist.
I like him a lot. two problems which I don't mind:
long wait time. I figure it's worth it, it means he takes the time to talk to parents
and z100 playing in the waiting room, but whatever. my kids are busy playing with the toys, not listening to the music.
also, only regular working hours, so if you work it may not be worth it.
pm me if you want.

mummiedearest, could you tell me how long you have to wait on average? The office I had been going to until now had a pretty long wait too... so I was just wondering...
amother, could you tell me more about Dr. Zimmerman?

about dr zimmerman
hes (I believe) head of peds at nyu- I feel a dr should belong to a good hospital

he also has 7 or 8 asst so someone is always there even late on sundays they have hours but in the summer sundays and some holidays you may need to go to theit nyc office

I don't know why you don't like them, but I have been with them for nearly 8 years, and I am so thankful to them, on more then one occasion they have literally come to the rescue.

I love Dr. Schwimmer on Nostrand and Avenue M. Always available to answer questions on the phone, sick appointments immediately without exception, reasonable wait time, excellent diagnostician, really excellent. I highly reccommend his office. It's also just one doctor and one PA, so you are not being juggled by 5 different docs like the last office I was at.
