I have had this bad habit my entire life and have never been able to stop and I don't want my son to develop the same thing. How can I nip this in the bud?

Does having your nails polished help? It's the only thing that helped me, so I have them polished all of the time.
I learned from my mother, who bit her nails. Having my kids really inspired me to quit, so they don't pick the habit up from me.

Dd did this from age 3-10. We tried everything. The only thing that finally got her to stop was constitutional homeopathy.
