I recently saw a piece in a magazine which disturbed me somewhat:
Quote: | Guzzling lots of water is the one health move that most of us here at this magazine actually manage on a regular basis. So imagine our disappointment when we heard that it doesn't do a darn thing! "There was no scientific evidence that water can help rid your body of toxins, promote weight loss, ease headaches or improve skin tone," says Stanley Goldfarb, M.D., author of a recent study review on the topic. "You drink more water, you just pee more."
If you're convinced that your skin looks clearer thanks to H2O, it may be just a powerful placebo effect. So instead of trying to chug eight glasses of water every day, let your body be your guide. "Drink when you're thirsty, and only enough to feel satisfied," says Goldfarb. |
Is it possible that after so many years of believing in all of water's benefits, that it may all be a bunch of lies?
I, for one, am not stopping my daily water intake.

I drink when I'm thirsty. But I also nurse. So I am always thirsty.
I don't drink other beverages besides water. It is calorie free and no sodium. If you cut out the rest of the juices or soda, it is very easy to drink 6-8 glasses of water.

All I know is that for years I've had this strange thing where my left hand was much dryer than my right to the point where my skin was cracking and bleeding at times. I'd smear on all sorts of lotions and it only helped somewhat. Now that I regularly drink 8-10 glasses of water a day it's cleared up completely.

there's "scientific evidence" in every direction you look at, supporting every view there is.
depends who's funding the studies.
