Is that supposed to be there? Would it unravel if it's cut closer to the hairline? I feel like it shows.

If it’s on the edge of your forehead where there is no hair (and does not need hair to be sewn there you may cut that off with extreme caution using scissors
However, if you have more hair on the sides, cutting too much may make the parts on the sides “flappy” and not stick to your head. (Common issue)
Your best bet is to go to a sheitel macher or salon that specializes in lace and has experience

I have side bangs and also some baby hairs. My sheitel macher cut it this way and I wondered why she left some longer.

It's supposed to be there. The lace cannot be cut so close to the hairline. You will notice it on everyone that is wearing lace.

Once you are aware of it, You will see it on everyone. Do NOT cut it yourself. You will kill your wig. It is supposed to be there.
The better match the lace is to the skin, the less it shows. But everyone has lace in their forehead
