True. There's a story about the Rebbetzin Trana of Skver. She was asked if she would shave, and she answered all offended- "I'm a Belze einikel".

actually the NOT shaving TREND [excluding the very few individual families who perhaps their mother/grandmother didnt shave] is only a few years old
The Rebetzen and Ruv - both - are very ANTI not shaving - and have told numerous people who came for a bracha for a yeshuah to start or resume shaving

Mrs. Mandelowitz used to say all kinds of scary stories about people that didn't shave.
She never gave any sources though.
I guess after she left nobody took over this sacred job.

She isn't and was not Belz she just went with her beliefs & meholich with everything. When she left the school started doing singing performances Etc as per the ruv

Let's just keep it at that

I married out and it's lonely sometimes when most of my class gets together for functions and only 4-5 of us are excluded.
It's almost like having a class reunion without us.

You can absolutely join anyway

I personally know someone that did

Don't know much about Belz, but can tell you this.
Our class made a performance in 4th grade, on the day of a Belz (grandson's?) wedding.
One of my classmates are Belz and her mother sat thru the play wearing headphones, and watching the wedding on a tablet.

Belz BP was very tzirik geshtanen with office jobs though.
Like 3 girls in my class didn't get teaching/ preschool positions.
I remember being shocked at one of them for taking an office job lol.
(Mrs Mandelowitz a"h times obviously.)

The girls that got degrees needed to do it secretly.

You probably graduated before year 2000 a new world now nobody is too excited about teaching

The girls want money

This is true across the board

the belzer ruv it's Innovative and one step ahead in many different ways including assistance for mental and emotional well being. Belz recently started an organization for former members that have left yidishkeit specifically only for the purpose of bringing them together and providing them connection to their roots & a warm feeling of home sweet home. I think the message behind that is extremely strong for families and communities everywhere

As far as I know you cannot watch the Belz wedding on a tablet. Everybody watches it together in shul, school, hall.
Unless you give crazy amount of money for an acces code (Which I doubt unless they are filthy rich)

I find it fascinating that the Rebbetzin plays such a big role even in the men's department. How does it work? IIRC she even "firs tish", correct?

You absolutely cannot watch the wedding live on your own device.

How long ago did you graduate? I'm almost certain that at a certain point, Belz Monsey did not sing in school.

Really? I graduated in 2018 and we always sang, I didn’t know there was a time that Monsey didn’t. It was a whole thing that belz bp didn’t but we did.

Also I’m shocked that as a non-belzer who went to belz I’m the first one to bring up “belz, belz, belz vet zein a vinkel, far Torah and yiras shamayim…”
Belz pride is very real lol. Coming from a different chassidus I was always impressed with how proud everyone in school was to be belz.
