As an abuse victim I've noticed that the most abusive teachers are the ones considered the best in the feild.

I'm sorry for your experience. At the same time, I really don't agree with this. We have all been students, and almost everyone can think back to some of their teachers as being amazing, and at the same time kind, caring compassionate. I think the abusive ones are few and far between, bH.
The teachers who are the best in the field are by and large considered as such because they are exemplary people as well.

We've already had issues with a morah expecting him to behave better than everyone else because other kids were both literally and figuratively looking up to him in his 2yo class. BH we were able to switch him and he thrived but that's not always going to be option in the future |
I know a couple ppl who had to deal with tall mature looking children, they gave the teacher/rebbe a heads up about this before the year started and through the year they'd give little reminders as necessary. Done in a respectful manner it is usually very helpful and the rebbeim or teachers are ususlly grateful for the parents' support.
