How the heck is this scam brilliant? If I got this emailed to me I'd delete it after scanning the first few lines. Doesn't a lawyer usually contact you if someone leaves one an inheritance?????

Just out of curiousity, how does it help scammers to have basic info like a name, address, occupation, etc. Not that I would want to give out information like that anyway, but what can scammers do with it? It doesn't ask for SS# or things like that.

Speaking of scams, I got an email a couple days ago that looked like it was from Paypal that said that there was an issue with my paypal account and to prevent fraud I need to sign into my account and verify my information and it gave me a link to a fake paypal site. I was ready to sign in but firefox has a fraud protection thing that popped up and said that this is a fraudulent site.

I get those paypal emails constantly. I also used to get emails from Citibank. When in doubt, call the place that supposedly sent the email.

Paypal has a link on their site where you can link to your e-mail and they will tell you if it's valid or not. It also helps them to try and stop it from happening in the first place.

Oh, I just got a doozy from the Sir John Cass Foundation (they do exist, I googled them.) I wrote back saying I wanted details of the $200,000 GRANT that was waiting for me but if they wanted my ss# or bank details I'd know it is a scam & I'll report it to the relevant authorities (DH is in a related field so he can help me.)

I also said if I DON'T get a reply I'll report them. Mean, aren't I?? Twisted Evil Keep you posted!!
