When R' Reisman (rabbi in Madison and the one who gives the huge Nach shiur on motzoei Shabbos) began teaching he asked Rabbi Pam how a teacher can avoid burn-out.
R' Pam answered, "Some rebbeim teach Gemara. They are in danger of losing their sipuk (satisfaction). Don't teach Gemara ... teach talmidim. Focus on the person, not the subject."
