she tends to prefer nightgowns but we don’t so we just get her regular pjs. sleepers in the winter and shorts sets in the summer

Some 8 year olds like sleeping with pants, others dont.

My girls wear a robe over their pj's once they hit their teens.

I don't think there are any rules. My 8yo decided she only wants nightgowns. I'm not thrilled but it's not something worth fighting over.

We have both sets and nightgowns. She generally wears a nightgown if there's non family around. But she also is a pj right before bed and get dressed as soon as she gets up kid (her choice)

My 8yr old is in pj sets, long and short sleeves. She prefers long pants though. No nightgowns cuz she's sensory
