The lid of my Bosch often comes off when making challah dough. Any tips?

Stand there and babysit it.
Seriously that's what I do.

I know someone that tapes it but I rather stand by.

That's what I do. Was looking for a smarter and more efficient way!

I purchased a new one when I got tired of babysitting. If you look closely at the lid see if there are pieces missing of the plastic.

How about the murky leaks through the bottom of the silver bowl?

My lid recently broke so I have to tape it well until I can find a new one.

For leaky silver bowl, I add half the flour as the first ingredient in the bowl and mix with water/ yeast etc.

If you’re in the Lakewood area, center of town sells lots of Bosch and Braun parts

If the silver bowl leaks, there is a rubber washer on the bottom removable piece that hold the beater, that needs to be replaced.

when I have the patience, I take a stack of books and place my mixer on the counter that has overhead cabinets and pile up the books all the way tight and that keeps it wedged in place. otherwise I do the same as you. my little ones take turns sitting on it Smile

I don't have a Bosch, but what about using large rubber bands?

Thanks for all your responses. Glad I'm not the only one:)
The books idea is genius. I will totally do that. I do 10 lb of challah (5lb twice) at a time so 24 minutes staying in one place is annoying.
Maybe I'll borrow a neighbors lid to see if that is the trick before I buy a new one.
As to the rubber band around that silver piece , it didn't do the trick:(

Its a cute idea. They would have to be these one inch wide rubber bands.

I just bought a brand new Bosch.
Same issue.
Sorry for being the party pooper.

Don't sue us if the books come rolling down on anyone. Wink

And what's up with this overload of attention?
12 minutes per dough?!
My doughs turn out fine at 5-8 minutes. They get into the best yeshivas and find great shidduchim so..
