rent is also going higher because of the AGENTS! they convince the baal dira that their apt is worth more than they'd be asking because the higher the rent, the higher the fee they get is. its totally not fair and agents should be banned. especially those who just popped up one day and decided to be an agent. they're bringing down the value of an apt (since an agent's fee is generally 1 month's rent, it adds $100 or so to the rent each month if you spread it out over a year)
there are tons of apartments available now, is ramat eshkol, MD and arzei. check diradirect.com, luach.com and the pirsumit. find one without an agent!

Actually, it's documented that an agent wold prefer to make a quick sale and move on rather than sit for a month on one apartment and maybe make another hundred bucks.

And also--prices are actually going down. You know why? The same reason they were going up before. Supply and demand. That's the way it works, and always has worked.
