Can someone please explain what is the difference between ripping a cd and burning a cd?
Can you use an 80 minute cd as a 20-hour mp3 disk?
If I insert a blank 80-minute cd into my computer and I want to download shiurim do I burn or rip?
And one more question, how will I know where one shiur ends and the other begins? Will there be 'tracks' such as the ones on music cd's?
thank you for helping me out with this

ripping a cd is when you take songs off a cd
burning is creating a cd

To download shiurim from your computer to a CD, you would burn.
Usually, on whatever program you would be using (Media Player, Media Center, etc.) the shiurim would be in separate tracks, meaning they would be like that on the CD as well.
Not familiar with MP3, sorry.

thanks for the info; a cd only holds 80 minutes so I'd need to burn it as an mp3 file.
