I am back on my diet. This time I hope not to stop until I reach my goal.
This break in dieting was so bad for me. I totally lost it & gained back some weight.
I can't decide if I should adjust my ticker to my current weight or not embarass myself.
I need to make a weekly menu, but for now today is planned out.
Breakfast:
red apple
Lunch:
chicken soup with veggies & chicken from the soup
Supper:
seasoned grilled chicken cutlets(tops), steamed brocolli with mustard
Excercize twice a day with the gilad 30 min low impact aerobics dvd.

I sympathize, JJ, but your menu is alarmingly sparse. Better to lose more slowly but safeguard your health. I highly recommend www.Myfoodpyramid.gov. You can get food guidelines including calorie values and daily value recommendations, plan menus, track your food intake and get feedback on how well you've fulfilled your daily needs, and track physical activity and get feedback on that as well.
Where is your dairy component for calcium? where are your whole grains? for weight loss success, it's all about portion control and balancing intake with physical activity, not about eliminating food groups you consider "fattening". Except for refined sugars and alcohol, of course, both of which are perfectly expendable.

I will have whole grains on shabbos. (one portion both meals)
After the first week I will/can have a whole grain for lunch once a week. Whole grains don't mix with protien, so I can have it with avacodo or veggies...
Breakfast after the firt week can be any fruit. It can be two apples now, but I don't usually want two in the morning.
Lunch I will usually have a protien w/ a veggie. Today I chose the stuff from shabbos I had in the house.
Supper will include soups usually, but today I don't want to be anywhere near the kitchen.

I find the hardest day in dieting is the 3rd. I prepare all the foods I want to eat that day the night before and stay away from the kitchen. Even if I see sugar, carbs etc, I am DOOMED!

have you thought of consulting w a nutritionist? I lost a lot of weight with the help of an RD - she is expensive but worth it and the visits are motivating in and of itself, as is the need to write down everything I eat. I think my RD would tell you that you are eating WAY too little, which is frustrating, results in loss at first but then a major plateau, and then a major regain.

Hhm the basis of my diet is coming from a nutritionist.
Why do you think it's too little?
This isn't about measuring & weighing how much you eat.

ur eating way too little. I mean, come on, an apple for breakfast? I'd starve!
add a yogurt in there and maybe one packet of oatmeal.
That's my typical breakfast.

Judy, good luck! I wish you well. I do think you should have two snacks a day like almonds because it's too little calories and you'll be hungry.

That's a no no. Fruits don't mix with anything.

After week one.
Week one is apples only.
I don't love fruit on a empty stomach, that's why I stick to one. If I'm hungry I eat more.

There was a nutritionist here in bp awhile ago (who disappeared from the face of earth now) that my family used. I didn't go to her- but that's where the gist of it comes from.

I shouldn't have spoken about her in past tense. She is part of our past, but she isn't dead. She's alive someplace out there, just dissapeared without a trace.
Oh well I had a mixed up supper. I came in from work hungry. There was some baked salmon in the fridge, so I had a piece of it. Then I started preparing dinner...I ended up eating a bit of a smoked turkey drumstick (I know no good) & bit of grilled chicken cutlet.
I guess the brocolli I took out for dinner will be for tomorrow's lunch. I think it will make some kinda stir fry on the skillet- onion, brocolli, chicken cutlet tops....What can I put in for flavor?

The very first time I giggled audibly on imamother!
Good for you!
(BTW, I wouldn't be surprised. An apple for breakfast is dangerous. You need protein and whole grains after fasting all night.)
