DH says that many authorities hold that if you did an isur dirabanan beshogeg that it isn't even considered an avairah and you don't even need to do teshuvah for it.

Maybe op is Australian. Australians shorten every word to end with o...
garbo (garbologist), lesbo(lesbian), smoko (smoking break) etc etc..

It's Sefardi superstition (I heard, anyways) that if a pregnant woman smells a food and has a craving for it and doesn't go and eat it, her baby will be born with a birthmark in the shape of that food.

There's not much you can do about it now. No justification for "freaking out!!!" -- do tshuva and move on.

OP- We hold 6 hours but my husband has told me that once you've reached 5.5 it is considered the same thing. He believes that anyone who holds 6 hours are technically ok with 5.5. Though he won't do this himself just because he prefers to be more Makpid- he has reassured me that it is really fine. But double check with your lor just in case. I appreciate your sensitivity with Halacha though...its nice to see people out there holding on strong to Mesorah and not shying to the gray guidelines.

Seriously marina, these terms are so cheesy. What's wrong with plain old pregnant? Or if you must be fancy, encentiente?

or maybe technically correct: Gravid.
sounds like you're ill or something... "my you're looking quite gravid today!"

Yup. My mil insists that I have to touch a hidden part of my body if I don't eat a craving, so the birthmark will at least be in a hidden place. She has a daughter with a strawberry shaped birthmark to prove it, too. Oy. Rolling Eyes

That's why my youngest daughter's head looked like an eggroll (actually is was her ears) when she was born? Now I got it. I thought the rolled ears were cute and said to dh "could be worse, could be pointy like Dr. Spock!"
they straightened out.
I use "expecting".

Oh, please don't use that term! In Alexander Mccall Smith's Number One Ladies' Detective Agency series, "he is late" means "olov hasholom".
