Not thick at all. You can always look at Chabad's "Jewish Calendar" web page, or any Jewish calendar book; it will tell you about candle lighting, if any.

The Chabad calendar is great because you can find additional information in it.
For straight candle lighting times and occasions, Hebcal is also really good.

Some places, people read Eicha by candlelight, but there is no ceremony for lighting them.
