I noticed that every time we eat scrambled eggs, my baby's face breaks out- even before I nurse her- it's just from the smell I guess. but when we eat egg salad nothing happens, or anything else that has eggs in it. only by scrambled eggs. does this make any sense?? should I be concerned?

Yes, your baby can be allergic to the eggs if they’re not cooked 100% or baked etc. how about when eating it? Maybe it’s the tomatoes. Do you serve tomatoes with the scrambled eggs? Try plain scrambled eggs one day for lunch with NOTHING to it, and then you’ll know. You’re lucky because egg allergies can usually be very severe.

I took her to the doctor and mentioned it to him and he was all indifferent he said he never heard of such a thing....did anyone ever hear of being allergic to not 100% cooked eggs? and how might this affect her when she gets older and begins to eat real food?

my niece was allergic to egg whites as a baby. anything w/ eggs made her break out. eventually she was okay w/ eating cake that had eggs cuz it was cooked for a long time. by now she can eat scrambled eggs, but she was around 9 before it was okay.
