Has anyone gone to the Highline in Manhattan? Is it geared for kids? Are they play areas or playgrounds nearby? Just trying to plan a fun activity now that day camp is over. TIA.

It's a beautiful place to stroll around and see some of New York City's landmarks and streets. Will your kids appreciate that?

My older kids enjoyed it this spring, when they were 13 and 11. They appreciated the feeling of being elevated over Manhattan, the nice views of the Empire State Building and the water, and the funky overall vibe. Younger kids are likely to get bored, as I don't remember much to keep them entertained. If you do go, it can get crowded if the weather is nice, so try to avoid weekends.
