Can anyone give me information about Akiba Shechter? Specifically regarding children with behaviorally and social issues. What type of in school resources do they have. Do they help children with the social behavioral issues or just put up with them.

dont really know much about them other then they are MO/zionistic and located down town and the bus takes a long time since arrival and dismissal are during traffic times.

They really don't handle behavior and social issues. They really excel at learning issues . They know how to deal with children that learn and process information differently .

The school is not modern orthodox . While it is run under orthodox leadership , the kids come from very yeshivish to non frum / secular homes .
The bus ride is 45 minutes . The bus is express so it does not make any stops . Drop off and pick up are at one place .The bus is supervised with bus monitors and is a structured part of the day .

Thanx for your responses. I was posting for a friend who is considering moving to Chicago whose child needs a special ed school that will deal with her behavioral and learning issues.
Which means there really is only Gesher. I happen to be a big fan of gesher, only my friend has a girl and I don't think they will have a girls class. If anyone hears any information please let me know.
