My very happy 5 yo son woke up last night about 2 hours after he went to sleep crying a lot, seemed like he was sort of sleeping. He remembered nothing about it this morning. Tonight it happened again, he was crying pretty much but seemed half asleep and I doubt he'll remember it tomorrow morning. Anyone have any idea what this is? When we asked him what's the matter, he just kept crying and saying don't talk to me now

Not uncommon in very young kids. How is he acting in the daytime?

During the daytime he's a very happy settled boy. In very young kids do you mean 2, or 5 also? After last night I thought it was just a fluke, maybe a bad dream. But 2 nights in a row is just a bit much for this

Could be night terrors which are caused by stress. Did he experience a big change recently? New school, moved to a new area, new baby sibling?

Sounds like it's pinworms. They come out at night usually and once it goes back inside it stops hurting. That's why it doesn't bother him the rest of the night

By what you described, sounds like a night terror or a nightmare.
