Take a tour of the College of William and Mary, the 2nd oldest institute of higher education in the country (Harvard is older). It is very unique as it has 3 distinct, yet adjacent campuses: New, Old, and Ancient. Thomas Jefferson, along with many other notable alumni, is a graduate.

Also Jamestown (actually two historic sites) if you still have an appetite for history after spending a couple of days at Colonial Williamsburg. It was the first permanent English settlement in the Americas; you probably learned about it in history class if you grew up in the US. Interesting historic glassworks.
