I just saw in olameinu (I think) that you can make edible menorahs using small donuts and sticking licorice (different colored) as the candles. They used toothpicks as the flames (the ones with the little plastic tops). It was cute.

I've seen two different ones:
One, fill little shnaps glasses with yellow jello and licorish strings. Comes out adorable!!
Other one is easier- take a stick of styrofoam, cover it in silver foil. Then, stick lollypops in, and glue on a pretty backdrop.

I once made one (almost) all out of chocolate.
Base was made out of domino-shaped med. dark chocolate.
Cups like Shnaps shaped made of dark, dark chocolate
Filled with Rosemarie Praline (for oil)
Little pieces of string licorice for wicks.
But not really for little kids to make.

However you decide to do it.... candy corn would make great flames.

My mother does this. It's lots of fun if you know how to chocolate mold (very easy!) and it's very impressive. Look in a crafts store for a plaster mold in the shape of a menora (might have a problem finding that lol) and just use it for chocolate -perfect! For candles you can use chocolate covered pretzels, and a flame can be made with a red lentil or a bit of licorice.

yes I've made with wafers...

you need wafers, marshmellow flutt, marshmellows, candy corn

you use the marshmellow fluff to stick 2 wafers together to make a base

then you stick the marshmellows for candles, using the marshmellow fluff

and then you add the candy corn for the flames

at Mommy and Me this morning: 2 graham crackers spread with fluff or nutella. Lay stick pretzels in a row for the candles, raisins are the flames. There was no order or correct way to do them. Each child was very 'creative' and every menorah was eaten before they left the room

O for goodness sakes, you just reminded me why I wanted these little glasses from a catalog. I had an oppty to buy them but thought better of it b/c I couldn't remember what I wanted them for. now I remember it was for this very project since I have no schnapps glasses and these were real cheap. oh well too late now maybe nxt year.

When I used to teach, we gave each kid 10 marshmallows (2 together for the shamesh), skinny pretzel sticks & gumdrops for the flames.

My ds, 2 1/2, made the jello in schnaps cups & licorice menorah in school. They painted the wood & glued the cups to it. It is so cute & he is so proud even though he doesn't like jello. He fed it to big brother.

Just found this old thread. Such cute ideas!
You can stick thin pretzel sticks into a styrofoam and stack colorful cheerios on the pretzels. Put a red sour jelly on top for the flame.

Very easy and cute edible menorah:

Packet of stick pretzels
Marshmallow fluff
Foil lid (from the disposable foil pans)
Red jelly beans

Stick on to back of lid (the white side) and enjoy!

Hi!

I just served this for supper last night:
8 french fried potatoes, 1 tall one in the center, lined up in a plate.
I then squeezed one drop of ketchup on top of each stick.

Look at the picture of the menorah:
http://handsontheparsha.blogspot.com/

You can also bake a chocolate cake in a small rectangular pan and add 8 round wafer cookies across and you can place one more higher than all the rest.
Have fun :-) that is the most important thing!

My friend made this last night for her chanukah party.
Jello in a 5" plastic plate. When firm, flip onto the plate you'll serve on. Cut off the top 1/3 and move it to the bottom for the base. Put licorice for candles.
If anyone wants I can post a pix soon.
