I tried to make lasagna tonight.
I’m still new to cooking so cut me some slack!! Haha.
I used regular lasagna noodles
Vodka sauce and ricotta cheese and then went on to the noodles, vodka sauce ricotta cheese etc etc etc etc
Parmesan cheese and pizza cheese for the topping.
Just tried it and I feel that there’s something missing. It tastes okay but a little bland.
🙈🙃🙈🙃
What’d I do wrong ladies?
Help a wife who’s still new to the cooking scene.

Did you add spices to the sauce?
Why vodka sauce?

Ricotta alone is very bland. Season it well, you can add an egg for some additional richness, plus I usually add some sort of harder cheese, like mozzarella or gouda, as I layer it, to add more flavor and textual interest.

What should I have put in the cheese?

Have you ever made it with marinara? It's a good idea to first make recipes the right way before experimenting.

I always use vodka instead of marinara. Love the taste.

I had way too much marinara sauce this week (we’ve been surviving on pasta) and I’m kind of sick of it now and I realized that vodka sauce doesn’t really have much of a difference lol but okay will keep that in mind

You just needed more salt and spices. But I'm sure your husband liked it anyway.

Next time, to the ricotta cheese, add an egg, shredded mozzarella, tons of garlic powder, and some onion powder.
Garlic makes (almost) everything delicious.

I use a flavorful sauce by Tuscanini. Best one in my opinion. Add some basil cubes.
