What made you check his temperature? How long is it going on? Did he just jump around? Did he just wake up?

Yesterday he had fever but was acting tired/sick.
Today I kept him home, figured I'd call the dr if the fever came back. He did not get a fever until around 2-3 pm (and by the time I called, no appointments left I need to wait until tomorrow).
Today he acted entirely active and fine, no kvetching and no sleepiness. He ate and drank nicely.

It means that his body is fighting something, probably some virus. My pediatrician recommends not treating low fever if the child is acting fine, since fever is actually beneficial when the body is fighting disease.

I would give lots of fluid to drink and monitor the fever. If he has fever tomorrow, I'd go check it out.

My toddler had the flu.
Low fever one day and then no fever and acted fine.

My kids often have fever in 101 range while acting totally fine with strep. Maybe worth a culture?

Bringing him in tomorrow.
This is a stressful cycle!
He was sick with a cold and fever (and was acting sick) 3 weeks ago. Then his big sister got sick. All the while I was sick with a painful sore throat, a cold, terrible congestion, ending in painful sinusitis. Now he is sick again
