If you can remove wefts instead, that is a better option, though not always possible. That way you can always add it back if you don't like it

Get it done at the company that manufactured the wig. They will care more about the wig. They will charge less than other repair places.
Keep the wefts they remove, in case you need to put them back in one day.
Do not have it thinned with a scissor/razor. You will regret it when you see those little pieces near the hairline (they become visible the second time you wash the wig after cutting)
